DGA negotiates 2011 Basic Agreement and FLTTA more than six months before the expiration of the contracts. Negotiations led successfully by Gil Cates for the fourth time. Agreement achieves largest increase in Employer health & pension contribution rates since Plans were founded and establishes new tier in basic cable. DGA reaches an agreement with ABC, CBS and NBC on news, sports and operations in September. Guild works actively to fight Internet theft, a continuing problem and the Guild's top policy priority.
