DGA negotiates and ratifies the 2005 Basic Agreement, FLTTA and Network Agreement nine months before the expiration of the 2002 contracts, resolving the crisis facing the DGA Health Plan and protecting the health benefits of DGA members, retirees and their families. The Guild negotiated the largest total economic benefits package in its history, along with significant gains in creative rights. DGA’s five-year legislative campaign to reduce runaway film and television production reaches fruition when Congress signs into law The American Jobs Creation Act — the first-ever federal tax-incentive legislation to stimulate film and television production in the United States.
