On July 6, Assistant Directors and Unit Production Managers were able to learn more about their health benefits during a virtual installment of the Eastern AD/UPM Council’s Member Education Hour. This session, Fringes with Benefits: Part 1 - Insights into the Health Plan, sought to provide category specific answers questions about the DGA-Producer Pension and Health Plans as veteran members shared their knowledge and experiences as Health Plan participants, and addressed some of that Plan’s lesser known benefits and frequently asked questions.
Following an introduction by Member Education Committee Chair Michael Reichman, Committee member Les McDonough gave a general overview of Health Plan eligibility; DGA National Vice President Mary Rae Thewlis, who serves on the Plans’ Board of Trustees, provided insight into the makeup of that organization; DGA Board member Kathleen McGill explained the recent changes to prescription drug coverage; and Council Second Vice Chair Alison Rosa detailed a number of the lesser known benefits under the Health Plan.
The presentation ended with a Q&A session where the attendees could have their questions addressed by the participants. All of the attendees were encouraged to stay for the virtual Eastern AD/UPM Council meeting, which followed. Fringes with Benefits: Part 2 covering the Pension Plan will be scheduled for a future date.
