Second ADs Receive Skills Training in Atlanta

March 11, 2017 An AD/UPM Council East Second Assistant Director Committee Event

Second Assistant Directors received valuable knowledge when the AD/UPM Council East’s Second AD Committee held the seminar Second Life: A Skills Training for Second Assistant Directors in Atlanta, Georgia on March 11. Modelled after the successful Second Life training held in New York last October, the event helped these members brush up on the essential skills required to successfully do the job of a Key Second Assistant Director, Second Second Assistant Director or Additional Second Assistant Director.

1st AD Jason Inman and 2nd ADs Yor-El Francis and Kristina Peterson guided the participants though the all-day event that covered the job of the Second Second AD in the morning session and the duties and responsibilities of the Key Second AD during the afternoon segment. The subjects explored included: Dealing with Paperwork; Running a Department; Dealing with Actors, Agents, Managers and Guardians, Prep, and Budgets and Breakdowns. DGA Senior Field Representative Bart Daudelin was also on hand to answer questions.

Both sessions were constructed so that all the attendees had ample opportunity to ask questions specific to their needs and the participants were able to network with their peers during the lunch break.
