2014 Emmy Directing Nominees Reception

August 20, 2014 A DGA Special Event

On August 20, the DGA hosted its annual reception for the directing category nominees of this year’s Primetime Emmy® Awards at Guild Headquarters in Los Angeles.

“I am so proud to be here tonight because of the incredible caliber of work being done on television by our DGA directors,” said DGA President and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series nominee Paris Barclay in his welcome to the audience. “The work of this year’s nominees fuels the imagination of audiences with its technical flair and astonishing ability to tell stories with style, humor, panache, and deep emotion. The Directors Guild is proud to be a part of this annual celebration, and to have this opportunity to salute these provocative champions. Win or lose on Emmy night, you are all winners to us.”

Barclay then turned the floor over to Bruce Rosenblum, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) who congratulated the nominees and then introduced ATAS Director Peer Group Governor Gail Mancuso, who joined Barclay in presenting the official 66th Annual Emmy® Award Nomination Certificates to the attending director nominees.
