History of the Second AD Committee

In June 2005, the 2nd ADs of the Western AD/UPM Council, led by Vince Duque and Melody Beam, hosted a breakfast for their category to discuss ways of increasing the awareness of the leadership role of the 2nd AD on set. The energy and enthusiasm generated by that meeting prompted Council Chair Cleve Landsberg to form a standing committee to address 2nd AD issues. The Committee has since tackled many problems faced in the workplace and made several recommendations to the Council. Research conducted by the Committee in preparation for the 2008-2011 Contract Negotiations lead directly to proposals that gained our Guild the Wrap Supervision Allowance.
