Did You Know – from the January 10, 2022 Council Meeting:
MLK Day added as Paid Holiday and other Holiday info:
For Associate Directors and Stage Managers working under FLTTA or the Network Entertainment Agreement where there are terms, please know that Martin Luther King Jr. Day (the third Monday in January) is now an official holiday and should be paid at 150%. If you are working under a new media or basic cable agreement where those terms are negotiable, please be sure to consider this when negotiating if that holiday falls during your work period.
Also, under the FLTTA, the holidays covered are now New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas. If any of these holidays falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be considered the holiday. If any of these holidays falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered the holiday.
For example, this year, New Year's Day was on a Saturday, so the Friday - which was show day for all of the NYE shows - was considered the holiday and paid at 150%.
