DGA Promotes Jon Larson and Louis Zogaib to Assistant Executive Director

December 08, 2003
Los Angeles, CA - DGA National Executive Director Jay D. Roth announced today the promotion of two Guild veterans, Jon Larson and Louis Zogaib, to the position of Assistant Executive Director.

"We have been very fortunate to have Jon Larson and Louis Zogaib serving the DGA membership for more than 4 years." said Roth. "As Assistant Executive Directors, they will now utilize their experience and skill in contract enforcement as members of our senior management team."

Since joining the Guild in 1999 as Special Assignments Executive, Larson has participated in negotiations of the DGA's Basic, Commercial, and Low-Budget Agreements. Initially serving as staff liaison to several DGA member committees, Larson oversaw enforcement of directors' post-production creative rights nationally, and enforcement of commercial contracts on the west coast. In his new position, Larson will continue his work on commercial contracts and the enforcement of directors' post-production rights.

Larson received his BA magna cum laude from Amherst College and completed the film program at New York University. Prior to joining the DGA staff, Larson coordinated the Writers Guild of America's thirty-plus member committees.

Zogaib also joined the Guild in 1999, first as Contracts Administrator and later as Special Assignments Executive, where he was responsible for reviewing qualification list assignments. More recently, Zogaib took over as staff liaison to the Assistant Director/Unit Production Manager/Technical Coordinator Council, overseeing its numerous efforts including the AD/UPM/TC New Member Orientation Committee, Safety Committee and UPM Long-Form Committee. As Assistant Executive Director, Zogaib will continue to focus on contract enforcement and Assistant Director/Unit Production Manager issues.

Prior to joining the Guild, Zogaib worked in labor relations and contract administration for the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) and the Writers Guild of America (WGA). He is a graduate of University of California, Santa Barbara.
