Filmmaker Martin Scorsese; DGA National Vice President and Law and Order Executive Producer, Ed Sherin; Mary Schmidt Campbell, Dean of NYU’s Tisch School of The Arts; and Andrew Tisch, Chairman Loews Corporation and Dean’s Council Tisch School, will announce details of a DGA scholarship to the Tisch School and plans for a gala celebration of the New York and East Coast Film Industry: “Directors Guild of America Honors...” at a press conference on Wednesday, October 6, 1999, 1:45 p.m. at the Tisch School of the Arts, First floor, Common Room, 721 Broadway (at Waverly).
Plans for the First Annual DGA Honors...gala to be held at the New York Hilton on November 21, 1999, will be revealed and details released on four award recipients, including Scorsese.
The Directors Guild of America Honors Gala was created in celebration of individuals and institutions that support film and television production specifically in New York and on the East Coast.
