As part of the Guild’s ongoing efforts to serve members residing outside Los Angeles and New York, the DGA recently held a membership meeting and brunch in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 14. This first-ever Guild meeting in this area provided an opportunity for local members to network with others in the area, meet DGA staff and hear what the Guild is doing to protect and extend their creative and economic rights.
After welcoming the approximately 20 Hawaii-based members in attendance, DGA Assistant Executive Director Faith Santilla reported on the Guild’s recent activities, contractual gains, priorities, the state of production locally and internationally, and how members can get involved in their organization.
The attendees were then invited to ask questions, share ideas and the gathering also discussed local legislative efforts to bring production back to the islands.
