The DGA is pleased to promote the upcoming event, The Give Back-ular Spectacular!, a 2-hour live benefit at the historic Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 6pm PST. The event is designed to assist crew members affected by the strikes.
“At a time when so many of our members and industry colleagues are experiencing significant financial hardship, the Directors Guild of America is proud to support The Give Back-ular Spectacular!” said DGA President Lesli Linka Glatter. “In this team sport of ours, we need to look out for every member of the team, and this event lets our community know they are not alone – while providing us all an evening of much needed laughter and entertainment.”
About the Event:
Crew members have gone without a paycheck for more than six months. Many are facing serious financial distress: losing homes, losing health insurance and struggling to feed their families. The Give Back-ular Spectacular! will raise emergency relief funds for both union and non-union crew members in need due to the work stoppage. Aid will be distributed through our dedicated fund at the Motion Picture & Television Fund, and everyone from PAs to office staff to Teamsters, IATSE and LiUNA members are eligible.
This is a one-night-only collection of insanely talented performers with incredible comedy, music, games and surprises — mostly unrehearsed!
