In September, DGA National Vice President Laura Belsey paid a visit to DGA members working in the world of news at the Good Morning America studio and control room at Times Square Studios. While there, she met with Director/DGA Sixth Vice President Lily Olszewski, Associate Director Joe Beltrano, Stage Managers Brad Hennessy, Eddie Luisi, Alfonso Pena and Kecia Stewart and Production Associate Cara Hall and observed them at work on the popular ABC program, from the production meeting, through rehearsals and shooting.
In November, Belsey got insight into the world of sports directing during her visit to the set of ABC’s Monday Night Football. During the meeting, which was arranged by Director Patrick McManus, she observed Director Derek Mobley and Associate Director Maddy (Madeline) Kassel put together all the elements that make for one of the most viewed shows on television.
