Remembering Enid Roth

March 13, 2018

On January 27, 2018, former DGA Third Vice President Enid Roth passed away. Upon learning of her death, the Guild issued the following statement:

“The DGA mourns the loss of Director and Associate Director Enid Roth, one of the first women to hold elected office in the Guild. In addition to her news and live television career in New York, Enid was a Guild pioneer who for decades served her fellow members in various elected positions including Assistant Secretary, Secretary, and Third Vice President. Remembered for her passion, resolve and dedication, Enid’s lasting contributions to the Guild have helped blaze a trail for all those who came after her.”

Roth was a Guild member for nearly 60 years. Between 1963 and 1995, she served 13 terms on the National Board, including as Assistant Secretary from 1975-1979, Secretary from 1979-1981, and Third Vice President from 1981-1983. She also served on the Eastern Directors Council for 11 terms from 1975-1998, and four terms on the Eastern AD/SM/PA Council.
