On December 7, DGA members who work and reside in the region organized the first-ever DGA membership meeting and dinner in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Approximately 22 members from all over the territory came to network with their peers, meet DGA staff, learn what the Guild is doing to protect and extend their creative and economic rights, and talk about the issues relative to working in the area.
Following a welcome from 1st AD Kaaren Ochoa, DGA Assistant Executive Director Daniel Bush spoke to the attendees about the current state of the Guild and its activities, including a report on the new Basic Agreement and FLTTA and the successful conclusion of the recent commercial negotiations. Field Representative Rebekah Courpet, who is responsible for covering the area, also spoke about issues specific to the local area and members contributed to the discussion during an open forum section where questions were addressed and comments welcomed.
