On June 17, DGA National Executive Director Jay D. Roth announced that DGA Special Projects Executive Gina Blumenfeld has decided to transition to a new part-time position as Visual History Program Director.
“After 15 excellent years of serving the membership and Guild as head of the Special Projects Department, Gina Blumenfeld has decided to step down as head of the department,” said Roth. “Gina’s dedicated service to the Guild and commitment to the development of Special Projects programs like Digital Day and the Visual History Program has been exemplary. We are fortunate that we have been able to convince Gina to continue to share her expertise on a part-time basis in a newly created position as Visual History Program Director.”
Roth also announced that Alison Russ has been appointed to serve as the new Special Projects Administrator beginning August 1, 2015.
Russ joined the Special Projects Department in 2001. She has served as Manager of Committee Events since 2004, working closely with the Guild’s Special Projects and Diversity Committees. Her responsibilities included overseeing programming and event management for the Meet the Nominees: Feature Film symposium, Digital Day, and other new technology seminars.
Russ earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
