DGA Installs Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

September 16, 2011

As part of its continual efforts to implement environmentally friendly initiatives, the DGA recently installed Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations in the parking structure of its Los Angeles headquarters. DGA members, Guild staff, building tenants and event or screening attendees can use the EV Charging Stations to recharge their electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, which offer a cleaner, more renewable energy alternative to gasoline-powered cars and help to reduce carbon emissions.

The EV parking spaces are offered on a courtesy basis at no charge and are available for use during the building’s normal hours of operation. The two stations are conveniently located on level P-1 of the main DGA parking structure located on the southeast corner of Hayworth Avenue and Sunset Boulevard. Parking personnel will be on hand to offer assistance with the operation of the charging stations.

The DGA is committed to ensuring that its green practices are among the best in the entertainment industry. Over the past two years, the Guild has implemented a number of environmentally sensitive policies, programs and procedures along with energy improvement measures in a significant revamp of its facilities operations. In recognition of these efforts, the DGA headquarters in Los Angeles received the elite silver LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council as well as the EPA’s ENERGY STAR certification.
