The timing coincides with the Guild’s celebration of its 75th anniversary. The Quarterly is publishing four chronological issues to commemorate the occasion, culminating in Fall 2011. The initial anniversary issue, featuring the Guild’s first president King Vidor on the cover, can be accessed through Amazon’s Kindle store for $1.99 per month.
Within the next month, the Quarterly will have its own app that can be purchased on Apple devices for $1.99, with subsequent issues selling for $2.99 for non-members and free to members with a coupon.
“This is a logical and exciting step for the Quarterly,” said the magazine’s editor James Greenberg. “Not only does it make our craft journal available to members digitally, but also brings the history and accomplishments of the Guild to anyone interested in the work of directors and their team.”
In addition, all stories from the Quarterly dating back to Fall 2005 are available online as part of this newly relaunched DGA website. See them by visiting the Craft section or clicking here.
