This is Mr. Katz's first DGA Award.
2009 DGA Movies for Television/Mini-Series Nominees Thomas Carter (Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story), John Kent Harrison (The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler), and Michael Sucsy (Grey Gardens) participated in the "Meet the Nominees" symposium held at DGA headquarters in Los Angeles on Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Following an introduction by DGA President Taylor Hackford, clips of each nominated film were shown and then moderator Mick Garris (The Stand) led the nominees in a brief discussion about the making of their films. Nominees Bob Balaban (Georgia O'Keeffe) and Ross Katz (Taking Chance) were unable to attend.
