The Guild’s new craft journal, DGA Quarterly, won the “Best New Publication/Trade” award at the 55th Annual Maggie Awards. The Maggie Awards celebrate both print and online magazines and are given out by the Western Publishers Association.
DGA Quarterly was honored for its premiere issue, published in the fall of 2005. The issue was also a multiple award nominee, gathering a “Best News Story/Trade” nod for the movie piracy article “Stolen Moments,” a “Best Single Editorial Photograph Trade” nomination for the portrait of Robert Altman in the article “A Man For All Seasons,” and an overall nomination in the “Best Association Publication” category. The award was presented April 21, 2006 during the ceremony at the Westin Hotel at Los Angeles Airport.
