We are pleased to inform you that groundbreaking for a new construction project at the DGA’s 7950 Sunset Blvd. property is scheduled to begin in August. The 7950 property, currently a vacant parking lot across the street from Guild Headquarters, has been leased by the Guild to Legacy Residential Partners for a mixed-use development that will contain approximately 180 high-end residential apartments situated over street-level restaurants and retail stores. In addition to the revenue provided to the Guild from the long-term ground lease of the property, members will be able to enjoy new restaurants and retail shopping within walking distance of the Guild before and after screenings and events. In addition, the new structure will have a secure 150+ car parking level dedicated exclusively for DGA use – replacing the parking available on the current surface lot.
During construction, the DGA will not have the use of the surface parking area currently used as overflow parking for DGA screenings, meetings and special events. While construction is taking place, it may be necessary to direct members and their guests to other off-site parking areas. The DGA has made arrangements for off-site parking at 8000 Sunset Blvd (the Virgin Megastore Complex). This area is located one (1) block West of the DGA on Sunset Blvd. and should provide more than ample overflow parking during the construction phase of the project. If you are directed to park your vehicle at 8000 Sunset Blvd., you must obtain a validation to secure complimentary parking. These validations are available at the security console located in the lobby of the Guild Building. Please bring your 8000 Sunset Blvd. parking ticket with you and it will be validated.
