On June 8, in celebration of the 25th Annual Tribeca Festival (TBF), DGA Past President Lesli Linka Glatter and Special Assignments Executive Jennifer Peat attended the Tribeca Festival’s Director’s Brunch. This year’s special anniversary gathering was co-sponsored by the DGA and Glatter spoke to the Directors with projects at the Festival about the advantages of Guild membership.
“The DGA safeguards our creative rights, ensures fair compensation, negotiates residuals that recognize the ongoing value of our work, and provides the health and pension benefits that allow artists and their families to build sustainable careers,” said Glatter. “The DGA is also committed to creating a safer, more inclusive industry — one that values diversity, opportunity, respect, and workplace safety. These protections did not happen by accident. They were built by generations of members who understood that when we stand together, we are stronger than when we stand alone.
“For me, one of the greatest gifts of the Guild has always been its sense of community. In an industry that can often feel uncertain, the DGA reminds us that we belong to something larger than ourselves. So, wherever you are in your storytelling journey, support your fellow artists and remember that the Guild is here not only to protect your career, but to help you build a life in this profession.”
The attendees also heard from TBF founders Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal, New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment Commissioner Rafael Espinal, and TBF Festival Director Cara Cusumano.
