On February 10, the Asian American Committee (AAC) meeting was preceded by the discussion, Tax Incentives and Strategic Planning: Keeping Productions in California. In a conversation moderated by Director and AAC Panels Subcommittee Co-chair Sam Kadi, California Film Commission Deputy Director Leah Medrano and FilmLA Vice President of Integrated Communications Philip Sokoloski discussed the current landscape of California’s film and television tax incentive program and local permitting processes.
From reviewing the California Film Commission’s jobs ratio calculation to learning more about the services FilmLA provides, Medrano and Sokoloski provided in-depth answers to member questions to help them better understand how the state agency and non-profit work together to support increased production in California.
