On November 16, Second Assistant Directors looking to expand their opportunities came together for the Eastern AD/UPM Council’s Second AD Committee event, 2nd AD Skills Training: Resume Building, Expanding Your Network and Interviewing. Held in the Guild’s New York offices and online, the hybrid networking event featured discussions about building a resume and expanding networks.
Following a welcome from 2nd AD Committee Co-Chairs Steven Lafferty and Anastasia Folorunso the attendees participated in the first of the day’s discussions where Folorunso and Committee member Sussan Cordero gave tips on building a resume. In a second discussion, Lafferty and 2nd AD Lisa Mall explored the topic of maintaining your contracts.
In between reconnecting with colleagues and participating in the discussions, the attendees encouraged to sign up for live and virtual 10-minute one-on-one mock interview sessions with several 1st ADs including 1st ADs Jane Ferguson, Scottie Gissel, Jason Hightower, Amy Lynn, Matt Mason, Tony Phillippe, Justin Ritson, Ann Salzer, Aaron Stone and Nick Vanderpool.
About the Committee
The Eastern AD/UPM Council Second Assistant Directors Committee addresses issues that concern the members of this category and encourages dialogue amongst members in an effort to bring awareness, devise solutions to problems and continue education and growth. The Committee is co-chaired by Anastasia Folorunso and Steven Lafferty with Secretary Alana Bonilla. The members are Vince Brown, Sussan Cordero, Pam Giangreco, Jake Grubb, Rachel Jaros, Felix Jordan, Joy Kim, Cary Lee, Dan Majkut, Jack McKenna, Jason Messeri, Dan Ogorzalek, Matthew O’Shea, Nicole Payson, Michael Reichman and Jeff Sedwick.
