On December 2, Unit Production Managers were in a festive mood as the Eastern AD/UPM Council’s UPM Committee held their annual breakfast gathering. Held both online and in the Guild’s New York boardroom, the invitation-only event, A Holiday Grab Bag of Topics, gave them an opportunity to learn from their peers, network and ask questions.
Following introductions by UPM Committee Co-Chairs Lynn Appelle, Leslie Gyson and Patricia Doherty Hess, Appelle led a discussion that covered topics including: What to expect with the new contracts as we get back to work, incorporating the new DGA AD workday hours and keeping things safe, and exploring the UPM/Department Heads relationship.
The breakfast also featured a discussion with Pat Swinney Kaufman, the Commissioner of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, who shared her vision for the New York Film Office..
