DGA Members Attend Multi-Camera Directing Breakfast Seminar in Los Angeles

On June 10, DGA members with multi-camera sitcom directing experience were invited to a seminar at Guild headquarters in Los Angeles. The breakfast event, Breaking Down and Marking a Script for Camera for Multi-Camera Sitcoms, was led by director Mark Cendrowski (Big Bang Theory) and featured directors Rich Correll (Fuller House), Victor Gonzalez (Last Man Standing), Gay Linville (Big Bang Theory), and Mimi Deaton and Jody Margolin Hahn (Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn). Each of the panelists spoke to their fellow directors about how they mark a script both for camera and blocking purposes, illustrated by accompanying clips from each of the shows and samples of the marked scripts. As they went through the clips each director explained how and why they marked their scripts the way they did.

After the presentations, the floor was opened to questions and further discussion from the audience. The seminar was part of the Multi-Camera Director Breakfasts.
