Tate Taylor: The Help

Director Tate Taylor (Pretty Ugly People) discussed how he brought Kathryn Stockett’s bestselling novel to the screen following DGA screenings of The Help.

In the film, an aspiring young author (Emma Stone) gets more than she bargained for when she decides to write a book that details day-to-day hardships of African-American maids employed by white families in the South during the Civil Rights era.

Taylor discussed the film with Director Jon Turteltaub (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice), following the DGA Los Angeles screening on August 13, and Director Billy Kent (The Oh in Ohio) after the New York screening on August 24.
