Focus on Women Seminar: Directing is Collaborating

On October 5, members gathered in the DGA's New York boardroom for a discussion about how to build a successful partnership with the many disciplines needed to fulfill the Director's vision.

Entitled Directing is Collaborating, the seminar was part of the Eastern Directors Council's (EDC) Focus on Women Series. Director Tamra Davis (Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child, Sons of Tucson) moderated a panel that featured UPM Margo Myers (White Collar, Empire State), Editor Tricia Cooke (Solitary Man, The Notorious Bettie Page), Cinematographer/Director Ellen Kuras (The Betrayal "Nerakhoon", Away We Go), and Casting Professional Kim Miscia (Gossip Girl, Bored to Death). The panelists discussed the nuts and bolts of how a team is assembled and how to best communicate with a Director's key collaborators.
