The Assistant Director Training Program (ADTP) provides opportunities for a limited number of individuals to become Assistant Directors.

The New York DGA Training Program expanded into the area of commercial production in 2007. This summer, the commercial production program launched in Los Angeles with Shirley Lee and Aaron Paulson as the first two trainees accepted. Their training began on July 20 with an orientation at DGA headquarters. On hand to speak with them were ADs John Elmore and Fred Childress, DGA Associate Western Executive Director Jon Larson, DGA Contracts Coordinator Hilary Whiting, AICP Vice President of Labor Relations Jane Nunez, and New York ADTP Program Administrator Sandra Forman.
