On May 15, DGA UPMs discussed their work during the Western AD/UPM Council’s UPM Committee annual breakfast event for members of this category. This year’s session was devoted to the subject The Evolving Role of the DGA UPM.

The attendees gathered during an informal networking breakfast in the Guild’s Los Angeles headquarters boardroom, and heard opening comments from UPM Committee Co-Chairs Marie Cantin and Dwight Williams. Cantin and Williams welcomed the participants and outlined how the day would proceed.

In order to explore the day’s subject from a variety of viewpoints and angles, the attendees separated into smaller discussion groups moderated by members of the Committee. Notes from each group’s explorations were recorded by another Committee member who both acted as the official group scribe, then later reported their findings when everyone reconvened in the boardroom to share the key discussion points in an open session.
