Documentary Series Screens Director Ondi Timoner's We Live in Public

On February 17, the DGA's Documentary Series screened director Ondi Timoner's 2009 Sundance Grand Jury Prize-winning film We Live in Public in the Guild's Los Angeles Theatre.

Culled from 5,000 hours of footage, Timoner's documentary explores what effects the web is having on our society, following artist/futurist Josh Harris who curated the project "Quiet" where over 100 people lived together on camera in an underground bunker in NYC for 30 days, and spent six months living with his girlfriend under 24-hour electronic surveillance. We Live in Public is Timoner's second documentary to win the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance and has been added to the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York joining her 2004 Sundance-winning documentary, DIG!.

After the screening and an introduction by Documentary Series Sub-Committee Chair Chuck Workman (Precious Images), Timoner discussed the making of We Live in Public with Director Peggy Rajski (Trevor).

Timoner has been a member of the DGA since 2005.
