On Tuesday, September 22, DGA Members gathered in the Guild's Los Angeles boardroom for the Women's Steering Committee's panel discussion Creating Opportunities in New Media.

The seminar explored employment opportunities in New Media with an emphasis on projects by and about women. The panelist were Felicia Day, Writer/Producer of the independent web sitcom The Guild; Carole Angelo, VP of Digital Content & Development at the Emmy Award-winning broadcast network website NBC.com; George Ruiz, Head of New Media/VP Business Affairs at International Creative Management; and Andy Ochiltree, Director of Development for the online comedy network JibJab.com. The industry professionals touched on a variety of subjects including how to develop an online production and make it work for you, and the need to develop succesful formulas to monetize online content. DGA Director-member Katy Garretson, Director and Producer of the online series Nurses Who Kill..., served as moderator for the dicussion.
