On Tuesday, September 29, the Asian American Committee (AAC) and Women's Steering Committee (WSC) jointly hosted a Q&A with DGA Director-member Karyn Kusama (Æon Flux, Girlfight) following the membership screening of her new film Jennifer's Body in the DGA Theatre complex in Los Angeles.
Following an introduction by WSC Co-Chair Tawnia McKiernan, the audience was treated to Kusama's horror-comedy that tells the story of Jennifer (Megan Fox), a sexy cheerleader who is possessed by a demon with an appetite for high school boys after a Satanic ritual goes awry. As Jennifer chews her way through the social network it falls to her best friend Needy (Amanda Seyfried) to stop her from killing more of their classmates.
After the screening, Kusama discussed the making of Jennifer's Body with DGA Director-member John Hamburg (I Love You, Man; Along Came Polly). Kusama has been a DGA member since 2004.
