DGA members in Los Angeles had the opportunity to attend this member screening followed by a Q&A with the film's director.

On August 9, Director Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up) amused the audience in the Guild’s Los Angeles theatre with behind-the-scenes tales about the making of his third feature film Funny People. The film stars Adam Sandler as a famous comedian whose near-death experience prompts him to make changes to his life such as taking a struggling up-and-coming stand-up comedian (Seth Rogen) under his wing and attempting a reunion with an old flame (Leslie Mann). DGA Director-member Paul Feig (The Office) served as moderator.
