On June 4, the DGA's Independent Directors Committee West (IDC) hosted a screening of Marc Webb's feature directorial debut, (500) Days of Summer, in the Guild's Los Angeles Theatre.
(500) Days of Summer tells the story of Tom, a hapless greeting card copywriter, who falls for Summer, the kind of girl that breaks hearts without even trying, revealing what happens when: boy meets girl, boy falls in love, and girl doesn't.
Following the screening and an introduction by IDC member Patricia Cardoso (Real Women Have Curves), Director Marc Webb and writer Scott Neustadter discussed the making of the film in a conversation moderated by DGA director-member Richard Shepard (Ugly Betty).
