The DGA's San Francisco Coordinating Committee (SFCC) welcomed DGA members from all categories to their Annual General Membership Meeting and Reception on Saturday, March 14, 2009.

Guild Bay area Guild members assembled at San Francisco's Concordia-Argonaut Club, where DGA Associate National Executive Director Warren Adler spoke about developments in New Media and how that will effect members of the Guild. Also in attendance were DGA Assistant Executive Director Rodney Mitchell and Field Representative Don Gold.

SFCC Chair John Slosser reported on the preparations for the Committee's upcoming Annual Summer Mixer; Treasurer David Hakim delivered both the minutes from the last meeting and the Treasury report; Education Subcommittee Chair Gino Caputi spoke about the Subcommittee's recent events and future plans; Mentor Committee Chair Alex Soranno spoke about the importance of Mentoring and that committee's activities; Screening Coordinator Cathy Hammer delivered the Screening Committee report; and SFCC member Frank Simeone read the Production Information list, which details productions occurring in the Bay Area, the names of new DGA members in the Bay area, and led the room in a moment of silence in memory of deceased director-member Nicholas H. Cominos. The meeting concluded with the DGA executives answering various questions from the members before everyone relaxed and networked in the reception that followed.
