On December 8, 2008, new DGA director-members had the opportunity to learn about their Guild at a special orientation meeting held at the DGA’s offices in New York.

Following a welcome by DGA National Vice President Steven Soderbergh, DGA Eastern Executive Director Russell Hollander gave the participants information on the history and structure of the Guild. The new members were able to have their questions about the Guild answered by an esteemed panel that featured: DGA Second Vice President William M. Brady, DGA Fourth Vice President Gary Donatelli, DGA Board Alternate Members Laura Belsey and Eames Yates, and DGA Eastern Directors Council Alternate Member Vince Misiano. Participants also received information on DGA benefits, activities and issues directly affecting their category.
