The DGA's Independent Directors Committees (IDC) hosted receptions for Slamdance Film Festival filmmakers at the Guild's headquarters in New York and Los Angeles.
At the Gotham reception on December 11, two of Slamdance's founding directors, Paul Rachman (American Hardcore) and Tom Soper (Fast and Reliable), gave the filmmakers a behind-the-scenes view of the festival, and DGA IDC member Jamie Babbit (The Quiet) informed them about the flexibility the DGA Low Budget Agreements offer indie directors.
At the Hollywood reception on December 4, Slamdance's President Peter Baxter and staff delivered an overview of how the festival works, and IDC member Mary Lambert (The Attic) offered advice about how independent filmmakers can work with the DGA.
