On Saturday, October 18th, 2008, the DGA Western AD/UPM/TC Council’s Mentor Committee presented Keys to Location Happiness, the second seminar in a series designed to support the relationship between the Director’s team and department heads.
The DGA Boardroom in Los Angeles was filled with ADs and UPMs who heard Transportation Coordinators Al Burton (Daybreak; Untraceable), Duke Foster (2 Fast 2 Furious; Mad Men), and Gary Hellerstein (CSI: NY; Unscripted); Local 399 Business Agent Ed Duffy (Buffy the Vampire Slayer; The O.C.); and Location Managers Mike Fantasia (3:10 to Yuma; Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), Tim Hillman (CSI: NY; National Treasure), Craig Van Gundy (Eagle Eye; Epic Movie), and Veronique Vowell (Cold Case; Curb Your Enthusiasm) explain how AD/UPMs can get a better handle on budgets and schedules, and give tips designed to save productions time and money.
