Global Cinema Series Screens Film from France, "I’ve Loved You So Long"

On October 15, the DGA Special Projects Committee’s Global Cinema Series gave the DGA theatre audience in Los Angeles a taste of France in the form of a screening of director Philippe Claudel’s I’ve Loved You So Long (Il Y A Longtemps Que Je T’Aime).

An official selection at the 2008 Berlin, Telluride and Toronto Film Festivals, I’ve Loved You So Long explores the subject of redemption and whether or not a crime is truly unforgivable. It follows tale of a woman named Juliette (Kristin Scott Thomas), who attempts to slowly readjust to society and her family after serving fifteen years in prison for committing a terrible crime.

After the screening, Claudel discussed the making of his feature with Global Cinema Sub-Committee Co-Chair Chuck Workman.
