AFM Panel Explores the Future of 3-D

Each year the American Film Market (AFM) Conferences and Seminars provide a forum where attendees can interact with and learn from prominent filmmakers, financiers, industry executives and talent. Attendees of the 2008 AFM were able to hear discussion of stereoscopic content from process to market and beyond in Through Rose (and Aqua) Colored Glasses: The Future of 3-D a conversation that was programmed by the DGA.

The seminar, held on Monday, November 10, at Santa Monica’s Le Merigot Hotel, featured Josh Greer, President and Co-Founder of RealD, a company dedicated to delivering digital 3-D content to cinemas, public spaces and business environments; Charlotte Huggins producer of the 3-D features Fly Me to the Moon and Journey to the Center of the Earth; and Mimi Maynard producer of the 3-D feature Fly Me to the Moon; and Tim Sassoon, President/Creative Director of Sassoon Film Design, a company that specializes in visual effects; and Steve Schklair, CEO of 3ality Digital Systems, one of the world’s preeminent digital 3-D live-action production and post-production companies. DGA director-member Eric Brevig, who recently helmed the 3-D feature film Journey to the Center of the Earth, moderated the conversation.
