In addition to the Guild serving as a sponsor of the Forum, on Saturday, September 27, several DGA members partcipated in the panel discussion What’s Up Doc?, which took a look at the new face of theatrical documentaries. The panel featured DGA director-members Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth), Freida Lee Mock, (Wrestling with Angels: Playwright Tony Kushner), Marina Zenovich, (Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired); and indie producer/director Arthur Dong (Hollywood Chinese) in a conversation moderated by International Documentary Association (IDA) Executive Director Eddie Schmidt.
Formerly known as IFP/Los Angeles, Film Independent is a non-profit organization dedicated to independent film and independent filmmakers with the mission of helping filmmakers get movies made and seen by audiences, and working to increase diversity in the industry by helping filmmakers from underrepresented communities tell their stories.
