DGA Members looking for ways to stretch their production budgets received a host of valuable information on Saturday, June 28, 2008, when the DGA’s Independent Directors Committee-East (IDC-E) presented the seminar Show Me Your Money. The event offered facts on state and local tax incentive programs available on the East Coast, delivered by a panel of representatives from the film commissions of selected northeast and southeast states.
Welcoming the attendees and participants, IDC-E member Nancy Savoca spoke about the advantages to be found by using the tax incentive programs offered by many states. DGA UPM-member Adam Brightman moderated the discussion about how these programs work, how to qualify for them, and how they are administered. The panel included Steve Gorelick (New Jersey), Jeff Monks (South Carolina), George Norfleet (Connecticut), Nick Paleologos (Massachusetts), Sharon Pinkenson (Philadelphia), Jerry Stoeffhaas (New York State), and Aaron Syrett (North Carolina).
