On Tuesday, June 24, DGA members gathered in the Guild’s New York boardroom for the panel discussion, Women Take On All Forms - Mastering the Art of Directing in Multiple Arenas: Film, Television, Commercials and Documentaries. The event was conceived and hosted by the Guild’s Eastern Directors Council (EDC), to give women DGA members information on how to make the transition from one directing arena to another, presented by a panel of experts who had either personally accomplished that feat or helped others to do so.
Director Linda Laundra (Another World) welcomed the panelists: Directors Julie Taymor (Across the Universe, “The Lion King”), Don Scardino (Tracey Takes On, Advice From A Caterpillar), Alison MacLean (Jesus’ Son, The Tudors), and Scott Yoselow from the New York office of the Gersh Agency. Director Rose Troche, (The L Word, Go Fish) moderated the seminar.
