On Tuesday, September 18, East Coast Guild Members were treated to a special evening of films by New York-based Directors culled from the 2007 Slamdance Film Festival. Presented by the DGA Independent Directors Committee East (IDC-E) and Slamdance, the evening featured Director Phil Mucci’s gothic fable The Listening Dead; Director Paul Di Palma’s look at a playwright whose inner world begins to overwhelm his sense of reality, A Monarch Cage (Jaula del Monarca); and Director Peter Kelley’s exploration of a secretive loner who is presented with a choice that could change his life, The Path of Most Resistance. Following the screening all three directors took part in a Q&A moderated by IDC-E member Gary Winick (Charlotte’s Web).
