The Best of Slamdance screening of Director Allan Moyle’s "Weirdsville"

On Thursday, May 24, the DGA and the Slamdance Film Festival presented “The Best of Slamdance,” featuring a special screening of the festival’s opening night film, Weirdsville, directed by Allan Moyle (Pump Up The Volume, Empire Records).

Moyle’s comedy follows the misadventures of a pair of small town slackers who find themselves in a situation that’s way over their heads after they think a girlfriend is dead from an overdose and try to dump the body of in the basement of a drive-in movie theater and find themselves on the run from a satanic cult, a drug kingpin, a millionaire hippie and a gang of medieval knights all during the same crazy night.

Following the screening in the DGA’s Los Angeles theatre, the audience was treated to a a discussion about the making of the film with Moyle, writer Willem Wennekers and Slamdance President Peter Baxter.

Moyle has been a DGA member since 1979.
