On Monday, May 7, 2007, the DGA’s African American Steering Committee (AASC) presented A Conversation with Tim McNeal during their monthly meeting in the boardroom of the DGA’s Los Angeles headquarters. The conversation was moderated by director Seith Mann, who earned a 2006 DGA Award nomination his work on Grey’s Anatomy.
“McNeal, the vice president of Talent Development and Diversity at the Disney-ABC Television Group, oversees programs, including the ABC-DGA Directing Fellowship, The Walt Disney Studios (TWDS) and ABC Entertainment Writing Fellowship, the ABC Entertainment Television Group and TWDS Talent Development Scholarship-Grant Program, and the Summer Television & Film Workshop at the Institute of American Indian Arts, among many others. He spoke to the attendees about the various diversity programs that ABC has to offer, and how he tries to open opportunities to women and minority directors.
