On Monday, June 4, 2007, 132 golfers and 42 tennis players took part in the Eleventh Annual Howard W. Koch Memorial DGA Golf Tournament, and the Fourth Annual DGA Tennis Tournament. Both events are fundraisers created to benefit the Directors Guild Foundation (DGF) an organization dedicated to assisting DGA members facing difficult times.

The golf tournament — renamed in 2001 in honor of former DGF Chair Howard W. Koch — and the awards reception were held at Los Angeles’ Hancock Park district’s prestigious Wilshire Country Club, which was founded in 1919 and has hosted many great tournaments and groups such as the LA Open, the Senior PGA and the LPGA. The tennis tournament took place right around the corner at the Los Angeles Tennis Club, home of champions since 1921.

DGF Vice Chairman Fred Rheinstein thanked the players for their participation and announced that approximately $150,000 had been raised on behalf of the Foundation due to the generosity and support of the day’s tournaments.

Roth; the Wilshire Country Club and Los Angeles Tennis Club; Tennis Tournament co-chairs Howard Storm and Gil Cates Jr.; the USTA’s Annette Buck who served as Tennis Tournament Director; and the tournament’s Gold and Silver Sponsors.
