On Tuesday, February 27th, DGA members and special guests gathered in the Los Angeles atrium to hear long-time DGA Board Member John Rich talk about his autobiography Warm Up the Snake: A Hollywood Memoir.
Rich’s tome reads like a history of classic television, starting with his apprenticeship at NBC Radio in New York City and follows the story through his experiences as a television director on dozens of TV comedy classics such as The Dick Van Dyke Show, All in the Family, The Jeffersons, The Brady Bunch, Barney Miller and Benson.
Rich signed copies of his memoir for friends, fans and collaborators from his long tenure in the director’s chair, and his more than half a century of membership and service to the DGA.
