Following a get-to-know-you breakfast mixer, AD/UPM/TC Council Chair Cleve Landsberg opened the morning by welcoming the participants and acknowledging the DGA members and staff responsible for the day’s programming. National Board Member/UPM Herb Adelman then gave a brief history of the Guild, and DGA-Producer Pension & Health Plans representatives Crystal Chiem and John Kitayama presented the attendees with information on benefits and services available to DGA members.
The event also informed the participants on what they should do to satisfy their Guild requirements before, during and after a job and AD/UPM/TC Mentor Committee Chair Randy Turrow distributed a list of information sources they could find handy. Next came the Frequently Asked Questions session with 1st AD Lee Blaine explaining how the DGA assists members working in commercials; 1st AD Bob Lewis covering the Availability Lists, QL, and Low-Budget Agreements; and DGA Field Rep Roberta Hutcheson explaining how Field Reps protect the membership. The morning concluded with a general questions and answers session followed by one-on-one discussions and a mingling mixer.
