On Thursday, November 9, 2006, both new and established DGA members of all categories were invited to an informal cocktail reception in the Los Angeles boardroom.

Following a welcome message delivered by DGA President Michael Apted, DGA Western Executive Director Bryan Unger gave the participants information on the history of the Guild and its structural organization. Then sibling directors Anthony and Joseph Russo (You, Me and Dupree, Welcome to Collinwood) gave the keynote address and spoke about the protections that the DGA gives its members.

Participants also able received comprehensive information on DGA benefits, activities and issues directly affecting their categories from key council and committee members and DGA staffers who were there to answer individual questions.
